Leaving homeschool for Real School. Help?

Okay, I'm American, I'm going to live in France and go to a public French school. My French sucks, and I was homeschooled my whole life. For me homeschool means playing video games all day.

I'm slightly short for my age (I'm 15), I have the hair of Robert Plant, I don't know any subjects at school (however I'm learning at home now,) My voice never changed yet, I look young and I'm stupid.

However;

I play electric guitar, I dress like a metal head (I love metal...) I'm not wimpy, etc.

Oh, and I have type 1 diabetes (I'm slim of course,)

So, will I get beat up in school? If yes, what can I do to avoid it? How can I change?

Also, how do I communicate with other teenagers?

Thanks.

Yes, I know, I sound stupid, but remember, I'm homeschooled!

  1. um, excuse me, but being homeschooled does NOT mean that you're stupid. It sounds like you're just trying to use that as an excuse to cover up your academic failure. Why did you take the liberties homeschool offers and butcher them by wasting your time playing video games all day? sounds pretty lame to me.

  2. You won't get beaten up in a French school. As a famous man once said " The French are cheese eating surrender monkeys "

  3. You don't sound homeschooled, you sound like a troll.

How on earth did you ever learn to write if you only played video games all day?  Why would you pass up homeschooling and the freedom it offers the year you are living in Europe to go to public school?

  4. i have never heard of anyone getting into a fight but school is ok the subjects are: Math, English(in france it is French), History, Science, Music, Art and some schools have special classes.

Haveing diabetes should help you not get beat up. try not to be too much of a meatl head remember there is a dress code.

Playing guitar show your skills that might help.

And when talking to teens i think that talking the way you type is best but DO NOT SAY "LOL"!!!!! NEVER!!!

Be yourself and try not to tell the world that you are homeschooled!

    Hope i helped

  5. i dont think your going to be beat up haha just find people who you feel that you fit in with and im sure youll make great friends

  6. Ummm, you haven't been to public school in the states and now you are going to a French-speaking public school, and, as I remember, your mom is very protective of you?? How can this be??  A French public school will be a VERY difficult school environment, as the students are preparing for exams that will determine which university they qualify for and hence (this is different in France, remember) what the rest of their lives may look like.  Really.  If you are not fluent in French, how will this work?

Why not a private international school where there would be more students like you?  My husband attended one in Madrid and in Geneva.

Your music will be an entry with other teens, but I am truly concerned about your school situation.
