Leaving the country. Some questions about what should be in my Carrie-on bag?

My fiancé, 11 year old sister (whom I have custody of, and will be bringing custody papers to prove it) are flying transatlantic to Scotland, with a lay-over in London. Other than a whole bunch of custody papers for my sister, medications and doctors notes to go with them, and our canadian passports, what should go in our bags for a 14 hour flight, then a 4 hour lay-over, then another quick zip from London to scotland? I really have no idea, never left the county before? So what types of things should be packed in carry-on bags for 2 adults and one 11 year old?

  1. I would suggest a variety of things to do - books, magazines, iPod, earphones for movie/TV watching, puzzles, toys, etc.  Remember pens/pencils & paper.  And depending on your preference, I usually like to have some chewy candy for when the plane is about to land to help with the change in air pressure.

I usually like to have a hair brush, toothbrush and some make-up in my carry-on just in case my luggage does not arrive with me <sigh>

    Have a great trip!

  2. 1. At least one day supply of clothing in your carry-on incase you lose your luggage.

    2. Bring snacks such as Jerky, Mixed nuts, Popcorn, potato chips and Energy bars. Bring something not sweat, because the Sweat snacks make you throw up after a long fly.
