  1. HAVE to have a car seat or they wont let you leave and medicaid pays the full cost of medical bills at least where I'm from i had my baby in fl and I'm now in pa and here ive heard they cover the entire pregnancy

  2. Well don't worry. If you are leaving the hospital they will have all you need at first. Usually a car seat for your baby.Diapers, diaper wipes.and sometimes baby formula. Yes Medicaid covers the cost of having a baby. Good luck with your new child.

  3. Medicaid covers all costs involved with labor and delivery and the care of you and baby while at the hospital.  To leave you must have clothes for yourself as well as an outfit for the baby and a carseat installed in your car for the baby and someone to drive you home (you won't be allowed to drive yourself).

  4. you need to make sure you have a car seat! most hospitals will not let you leave if you do not.  Medicaid should cover the whole cost.  check with them and they will tell you.

  5. You need a car seat installed correctly in the car, as well as your baby correctly strapped in. If neither of them is correct, then they won't let you leave until you get it fixed or installed properly. If you're on a tight budget, get a convertible seat that will last you until your child is at least 3 or 4. Some will hold your child in a 5 pt harness until 5-8 years of age like the Compass True Fit, the Sunshine Kids Radian, and the Britax Decathalon and Marathon. They're all excellent seats. They're slightly on the pricier side, but they last much longer and you only need to buy one seat.

  6. Bare minimum- a car seat for baby.

And yes, medicaid covers all medical costs.

  7. a car seat, and a ride home.  I live three blocks away and was not aloud to walk home with my son.  Which I thought was crazy, but oh well.  Medicaid covers everything except if you have a son, a lot of times they do not cover the snippy.  And little did I know that they will ask you for cash up front for it also..... Grrrrrr.......  It is not like there is a ATM in that maternity ward.

  8. You at least have to have the obvious, a car seat.

Medicaid should cover everything. I am under my dads insurance, and we only had to pay $88 the whole pregnancy, including labor and delivery. My daughter was put on Medicaid when she was about 2 months old and they covered medical bills 3 months prior to the time of being on Medicaid, so it covered the whole delivery bill for her. Thank god it did too, I didn't have $2500 to pay it!

  9. Medicaid covers ALL medical costs so nothing should be charged to you during the duration of your pregnancy and hospital stay.

You need a car seat and the proper tests done on you and baby before you can leave. The standards tests are jaundice, hearing, follow up for you etc...just normal things. Thats about it I do believe.
