Lebron James or Larry Bird?

Who would you say was/is the more dominate forward...Lebron James or Larry Bird (in his prime)?

I would say Lebron James because the competition in the NBA during Larry Birds time was not as good as now, so Lebron is the more dominant forward.

ok, well larry bird is old and although he is probably the #1 player in the 70's but if you asked any 10 year old in to days day they would gave no clue who he is or was. so right now i would have to say lebron james gets my vote for this era.

Considering Lebron is only 23 he hasn't exactly hit his prime yet so its impossible to say...........give him 5 more years

It is to hard to say, they played in the NBA at such different times. If there was a LeBron in the NBA 20-15 years ago he could of had 10 straight MVP seasons. The game is changing and always will.

Silly question.

Larry Bird was the greatest forward ever to play the game, and no one is close.

Tough to argue with 3 straight MVPs (especially when he could have easily won 6 or 7 in a row), this from a guy competing head to head with Magic, Kareem, Moses Malone and Jordan (who themselves combined to win 17 MVP awards).

Bird didn't dominate a league full of high school players and college sophomores, either.

LeBron is a very good scorer and driver to the basket.

I personally think Bird b/c of his shooting,but LeBron is the better choice b/c he isn't even 25 yet and he  dominates.

ask this question in about 10 years when we actually know the direction of lebron's career. right now its on the upswing but anything can happen good or bad.

no doubt lebron is the better athlete but bird was a basketball genius. he didnt need to fly in the air to make u say 'ooh' or 'aah'. all he did was just play a fundamentally sound game and trick the h**l out of u. he was also one of the best trash talkers ever.

as great as lebron can be...players like bird, magic and michael...they changed the game. not only from a marketing standpoint but from a player stand point.

and for anyone that says that today's teams give u tougher competition...please. they didnt water the league down as much w/ expansion teams or bring in players that just relied on athleticism to get into the league and didnt even know how to play the game.
