If these 2 bands joined together, early in their careers, I think they would be the greatest thing to have ever hit music.

What do you think?

  1. Don't know, it might have ruined their sound(s).  Each had a distinct tone, and they might not have ever been known.  Besides, I don't think Plant was into drugs like Morrison.

  2. Morrison and Plant were genius material. The material in words written will never be seen again. Both saw and envisioned other worlds of reality which we may only glimpse while listening to them. "Break on Through" by Morrison is breath taking in its depth of man's struggle to break free of death smashing it with the determination of his will. And "Stairway to Heaven?" well...you just can't listen to that song and and not have its true message delivered deep in to your heart. That song was in fact delivered to him while he lie dying in the desert of the middle east when he became lost on a desert walk alone. When he awoke in the hospital from unconsciousness, he immediately asked for a pencil to write the words of a song he heard as he lie dying in the desert sun. Stairway To Heaven was the timeless result. And I suspect that song will exist in the soul of mankind for as long as mankind exists on earth. Their messages now delivered, they have been called home.

  3. NO. It surprises me how poorly the Doors music holds up. I was a big fan--back then--but...

  4. I think the doors would have ruined Zeppelin.

The doors only have a few tracks I can listen too and I am not particularly impressed with their music but instead its the lyrics I find interesting.

With zeppelin the lyrics are good and the music is legendary.
