Tottenham Hotspur defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ledley-King-c21859 has revealed the Spurs need to learn a lesson from their defeat to Manchester United in the English Premier League.
Harry Redknapp’s men are currently at third place on the Premier League table, 13 points behind league leaders Manchester City. The reason for them dropping points were their defeats to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Manchester United in the Premier League.
They are now in danger of losing out the third place spot to either Arsenal or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, with the two London sides trailing by four and seven points respectively. King revealed he believed his side should have performed better defensively and secured a better
result against the Red Devils.
According to the English defender, his side had not been at their best defensively even though they had dominated the match. He felt if his team had been attentive at the important moments, they would not have ended up with a loss in the fixture.
King said while speaking to reporters:
“You're not going to beat teams like United if you're not concentrating and it was a bit of a lesson.
You can't fault the work rate and we gave a good account of ourselves for the majority of the game but if you fall asleep at vital moments, you get punished.”
King was disappointed that Tottenham Hotspur had allowed a header in the six-yard box just before half time, which he was determined should not happen again. The 31-year-old revealed he was now focused on the upcoming fixtures.
Tottenham Hotspur face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 and Chelsea in their next two fixtures in the English Premier League and King was hopeful of securing decent results against the two sides. He admitted the toughest time of the season was upon them and it was up to them to
stand up and deliver.
He revealed:
“There's tough games all the time because there are teams in the league now that are fighting for the league, fighting for European qualification, and fighting against relegation
It will be a dogfight until the end. Every team wants to pick up points and we're the same. We want to try to finish the season on a positive note.”
