Lee Anne-Pace and Melissa Reid leading the final round of Open de España Femenino
The final round of the Open de Espana Femenino is underway at the scenic La Quinta Golf & Country Club, Spain and South African Lee Anne-Pace seems to be at the top of affairs for the moment. After pulling in rounds of 68, 69 and 73, Pace is now pushing
for the final attempt and is one-under before making the turn.
The final day has turned out to be a difficult one where the players have been battling the course breeze and many of the overnight leaders including American Beth Allen have now fallen down the leaderboad. Allen, who was looking for her maiden victory on
the Ladies European Tour (LET), has carded one birdie and has dropped two shots in her front nine, before she made the turn. She is now six-under on the aggregate, trailing the leader by one shot.
Three other players are in contention for the top slot alongside Allen, including Spaniard Tania Elosegui, Italian Veronica Zorzi and Finnish Ursula Wikstrom.
Two other rampaging Italians, Diana Luna and Stefania Croce, are further down the leaderboard, two shots behind the leader. Luna started off from front nine and pulled in consecutive two birdies on the opening holes. She carded another birdie and dropped
two shots before making the turn. She has already played the first three holes on the back nine.
Becky Brewerton of Wales had a disappointing run in the event and is now poised at joint 13th for the moment. She carded rounds of 67, 72 and 77 so far and has remained in obscurity. She is almost done with her final round and is playing the last
five holes on the back nine. She carded four birdies and dropped two shots.
Frenchwoman Joanna Klatten has completed her final round carding her best score of the weekend. She pulled in seven birdies and dropped two shots on the final day, finishing for a five-under, 67.
Englishwoman Danielle Montgomery has also completed her final round, settling for joint 25th. She carded final round score of one-under, 71 against the previous rounds of 73, 72, and 75.
Melissa Reid of England has also completed her front nine and has just made the turn. She is now tied for the lead alongside Pace.
