Lee-Anne Pace to put up a tough fight at South African Women's Open
Lee-Anne Pace has voiced her intentions of giving a tough time to all the contenders at South African Women’s Open. It is easy to see the reasons of Pace’s intention.
Pace is really excited about the event. In a statement, she said, “I am extremely proud that the South African Women's Open is back on the schedule and that our leading professionals can once again have the chance to compete against the world's best on home
soil”.
South African Women's Open has just returned to the Ladies European Tour calendar and every player on the tour is excited about the event.
To win the cup the first time after its return will be an honour that every top player on the LET desires.
However, this is not the only motivation for the South African player. Pace will be up against the fellow South African golfer Tandi Cuningham, the defending champion of the 2009 edition of the tournament. This is a game that Pace has been looking forward
to win for some time.
Another reason is the homeland factor. Pace is determined to keep the cup in South Africa this year. Earlier, she said, “.....And I can guarantee that we will do everything we can to make sure the trophy stays in South Africa”.
Pace has a distinguished record as a professional golfer. She has been on a winning streak this year. Her performance at the recent events has been really impressive. She is all set for the South African Women's Open.
South African Women's Open is co-sanctioned by both LET and Women's Professional Golf Association of South Africa.
This has enhanced the reputation of the tournament to such a level that many top players immediately confirmed their availability after the tournament’s announcement.
Pace will have to face a line-up that includes some of the top names in women pro golf today. In addition to Tandi Cuningham, the defending champion, Lindsey Wright, Rebecca Hudson, Stefania Croce, Stacey Keating and Sharmila Nicollet are also set to appear
in the event.
Fans will see Pace in action on a golf course in her native South Africa. That is a treat many will not forget for a long time.
