Lee Briers says he is not worried about past - Rugby League news

Wales skipper, Lee Briers, confirmed on Friday, October 28, that he does not need to revisit the past's bad experiences while marching into the Gillette Four Nations Series.
Briers will make his 21st appearance as he will march into the inaugural match of the Gillette Four Nations against England, which is being staged on Saturday, October 29, at Leigh Sports Village.
While speaking about tomorrow’s encounter, Briers stated, "I don't have any unfinished business - not at all. I have just got to keep plugging away and keep going at every challenge as if it is a new one. I will just be myself, hopefully get us around the
field and enjoy it. It is always nice to test yourself against the best. That's the Aussies and Kiwis so I am looking forward to that."
The results of the last four seasons’ qualifiers have left Wales as outsiders for the tournament and the captain is aspiring to evaluate their on-field skills by playing against the best available sides in the world.
Since Wales are hosting the Rugby League World Cup 2013, Briers is all set to create a huge first impression. Lately, Welsh rugby is painting a sad picture with the departure of their long time franchise, Crusaders, from the Super League.
The defunct Crusaders had fallen to a sad financial state and withdrew from the Super League licensing process. This news had shocked the players and fans alike, as it meant that the Rugby of the highest level in Wales will reach its end.
The Welsh rugby league is looking forward to make their mark in the game and are taking the Four Nations seriously.
While talking about Saturday’s clash against the English side, Briers added that all he is looking to prove themselves a very a serious team, which is aiming for a brighter future in rugby.
It was stressed by the skipper that all they wish to achieve is to prove their mettle and genuine love for the game and the Welsh will not be worried about the sides they will play against.
