The Sunderland captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lee-Cattermole-c21868 has revealed the reason why the Black Cats managed a win over Arsenal in the fifth round of the FA Cup was because they “wanted it more”.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 manager Arsene Wenger brought into further pressure, especially after the
4-0 defeat to AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
Cattermole revealed he felt his side deserved the win, especially since Arsenal did not look threatening during the entire duration of the match. According to the Sunderland captain, his side wanted the win more than the Gunners which was why they eventually
succeeded in going through to the next round.
Cattermole said while speaking to reporters:
“Arsenal had a lot of the ball, but never really hurt us. I don't really think they were lacking confidence in their play. They played as they have done most of the season. They had a lot of the ball, but we set ourselves up right and played well.”
The 23-year-old said his side had looked dangerous from the moment the match had kicked off and were determined to secure a win against Wenger’s men. He revealed his side had done extremely well and had received a well earned win.
He continued:
“We look dangerous at the minute and are not going to be an easy side for anyone to play against. We are full of confidence and the lads are playing really well.
We are going into every game thinking we are capable of winning whoever we are up against. No one has rolled us over throughout the season. There is no team in the league in better form than us.”
After a defeat to the same Arsenal side in the English Premier League, Sunderland got the perfect revenge over their English Premier League rivals with a win in the FA Cup. Cattermole believed his team had done well in the season so far to prove they were
one of the better Premier League sides.
