Lee Chong Wei defeats Bao Chunlai in the round of 16 in All England Open Premier Super Series 2011
Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei defeated Bao Chunlai of China in the round of 16 of the All England Open Premier Super Series 2011 at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England today. The top seed Malaysian took 42 minutes to chuck out the Chinese in a straight-set
match and booked his place in the quarter-final, where he will meet either Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand or Lee Hyun Il of Korea.  
In the starting set of the match, both shuttlers remained close until 5-5, where the number one seed accelerated the pace and took a commanding lead of 11-6. After the interval, Bao started to play an attacking game and that earned him five points in a row,
as his momentum grew and he reduced the gap at 14-16.
Both players belong to the same class of the game, as they possess extensive experience of the game. They employed powerful smashes, incredible defensive strokes, tumbling net shots, strong pushes and wonderful speed to dominate each other in the court.
However, the Malaysian proved that he is the best in business by scoring four points in a row to finish the opening game by a 21-16 margin.
In the following set of the match, Wei and Bao remained toe-to-toe by maintaining the quality of the game. Both shuttlers are known for their precision and aggressive style of play. The score was 3-3, when the Malaysian scored four consecutive points and
established a decent lead of 7-3. The top seed was playing at his best, as he was in a good physical condition. He started to stretch the lead and remained successful by making it 11-6 until the interval.
After the one-minute rest, the world number one continued his impressive run and scored three points in a row by making it a 14-6 lead. Bao reduced the difference by clinching four consecutive points and reached 10-14. But again, Wei controlled the rallies
by increasing his speed and stretched the difference by making it 17-10. The defending champion spared no opportunity for the opponent to fight back in the game and won the second set with the same score of 21-16. The ending score of the straight-set-match
was, 21-16 and 21-16.
