Lee Chong Wei determined to break the deadlock by winning the 2011 World Badminton Championships
Malaysia’s top seed, Lee Chong Wei, is determined to break the deadlock by winning the 2011 World Badminton Championships, which will take place in London, England, from August 8 to 14. The World Number 1 is in tremendous form and has clinched five major
titles so far, in 2011.
Chong Wei won the events of BWF Super Series Finals, Malaysia Open Super Series, All England Open Premier Super Series, India Open Super Series and the recent Malaysia Open GP Gold. He lost only one match in the current year which was the final of 2011 Korea
Open Premier Super Series, where he lost to Lin Dan of China.
The Malaysian is working hard in training sessions to perform well in the international events. He is determined to continue his winning run in the World Championships. The Men’s Singles coach, Rashid Sidek, appreciated the efforts Chong Wei made to perform
consistently. The shuttler is known for his hard work and dedication in training sessions and has created a huge gap between him and rest of Malaysian shuttlers in Men’s Singles category.
The main focus of Rashid is to prepare Chong Wei to get rid of his nemeses Lin Dan, who will also be there in the World Championships. He said that despite the fame and success at international level, Chong Wei has not forgotten to work hard in the training
sessions. But the other Malaysian players are not working that hard as compared to the World Number 1.
The mega event is just three months away and all top athletes from all around the world are working hard to win the title at London. Chong Wei will be facing the best shuttlers from China, Indonesia, Denmark and Korea.
Lin Dan, the three-time World Champion and ruling Olympic Champion will be the biggest threat for Chong Wei as the Chinese is clearly leading the head-to-head meetings.
Another Chinese shuttler, Chen Jin, who is the current World Champion, will also be there to defend his title. From Denmark, it will be Peter Hoeg Gade who is still passionate to win theWorld Championship. Indonesia’s Taufik Hidayat, who is former World
and Olympic Champion, will also try to win the title again.
However, Chong Wei is determined to pass the hurdles this time and win the title for his country.
