Lee Chong Wei expects a stern test from Chinese shuttlers in All England Open Premier Super Series
Malaysia’s Men’s Singles ace shuttler, Lee Chong Wei expects a stern test from Chinese shuttlers including Lin Dan and Chen Long in the upcoming tournament of All England Open Premier Super Series, which is scheduled to take place from March 6-11, in Birmingham, England.
Chong Wei, who is number one in Men’s Singles world standings, who faced a string of losses from the hands of Lin and Long in the ending months of 2010, has found his winning momentum back as he delivered stunning performance in the opening tournaments of current year.
The top seed Malaysian played flawless badminton and bagged two back-to-back titles in the starting weeks of New Year including Korea Open Premier Super Series 2012 and the Malaysia Open Super Series 2012.
In the final of Korea Open, Chong Wei showed his class against his arch-rival, Lin, and won the title in a remarkable fashion. Then in Malaysia Open, he faced Long in the semi-final contest and overpowered him in a rubber-set showdown.
Chong Wei has proved that he is the best in business at the moment and is looking forward to remain in top form to win the title at 2012 London Olympics.
However, Chong Wei knows that the Chinese players will come back stronger in the All England as they will examine his game and try to train accordingly.
Chong Wei said, “I am the defending champion and it will be very tough for in Birmingham. My rivals will be doing plenty of video analysis and studying my game, so they will come even more prepared for the All England.”
The World Number One also said that Lin and Long will try to deny him a third consecutive title in All England Open, but he is confident now to take the challenge.
“I have had a good start and winning the Korea Open and Malaysia Open has been a huge boost. However, this doesn’t make me the clear favourite in the All England as I know Lin Dan and Chen Long will try to deny me a hat-trick,” said Chong Wei.
Chong Wei has six weeks to prepare for the All England Open, where he will try to complete his hat-trick as he has clinched the last two editions of this prestigious event.
