Malaysia’s best ever player Lee Chong Wei continued his smooth sailing and secured his berth in Men’s Singles semi-final after defeating his lower ranked country-mate Liew Daren in quarter-final encounter at Yonex Denmark Open Premier Super Series 2012 on
Friday, October 19, in Denmark.
The ruling World Number One Chong Wei, who has been showing up a spectacular performance of top class badminton for the last few years, showed his skill in the arena and easily sent his challenger packing in a dominating manner in just 31 minutes.
Chong Wei played with remarkable precision on court by playing positive badminton and eventually registered a comprehensive victory over his talented team-mate in straight games with a comfortable margin on score board.
In the meanwhile, the un-seeded Daren could not stretch his incredible run in the tournament as he failed to cope up with the speed and class of his higher ranked country-mate and ultimately lost the battle with a respectable margin.
The top seeded Chong Wei knew the game of Daren as he anticipated all shots and easily took an early lead without facing any trouble.
Chong Wei continued his tremendous performance on court and executed his fabulous smashes on both sides of his opponent and secured a smashing lead of 11-5 until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, Chong Wei remained on track proving his elite class in the arena and he maintained his upper hand without facing any trouble.
The crafty Chong Wei finished off the opening set of this quarter-final clash in a completely dominating fashion with a 21-16 score on the board.
In the second game, the situation remained the same as Daren again remained struggling to find a good flow.
On the other hand, Chong Wei continued his elevated play in opening half of second round and eventually took an impressive 11-4 lead on score board.
After the break, Chong Wei did not let his rival to get closer at any stage and remained successful in finishing up the match with a good difference of 21-16.
Chong Wei emerged as the winner in this quarter-final clash in just 31 minutes with a 21-16 and 21-16 score on the board.
