The World Number One, Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia, proves his supremacy as he has claimed the Men’s Singles crown in the 2011 French Open Super Series, which ended in Paris, on Sunday, October 30.
In the final of the tournament, Chong Wei thrashed Kenichi Tago of Japan, who completely failed to put up strong show against the top seed. The Malaysian consumed only 39 minutes to claim victory over the Japanese without facing any resistance.
After losing the final of the World Championships in August, Chong Wei has been struggling hard for to find his momentum back. He lost two finals to lower ranked Chinese shuttler, Chen Long. However, in the French Open, he defeated the Chinese narrowly at

In the opening few rallies of the match, the World Number 19 Tago matched the speed of his higher ranked opponent. However, the Malaysian injected more pace into his shots which disturbed the flow of the Japanese. Chong Wei started to build lead by playing
with aggression. Until the break, the Malaysian set up a reasonable gap against the Japanese shuttler.
After the interval, Tago worked really hard to bridge the gap but failed as his opponent was playing on the highest level of the game. Chong Wei continued his convincing play and finished the second game with a five-point difference of 21-16.
The following set was completely one-sided as the Japanese almost gave up as he failed to play at the pace set by his rival. Chong Wei was flying in the court as he took the bird quite early from all areas of the court and made Tago moving around in all
corners of the court.
The aggressive game of the Malaysia earned him second set with a striking margin of 21-11. The final contest ended up in 39 minutes with a 21-16 and 21-11 score on the board.
