Lee Chong Wei not perturbed with his loss to Shon Wan Ho at the final of India Open
Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei is not worried over his loss to Korea’s Shon Wan Ho in the title match of India Open Super Series 2012 as it was his first tournament after recovering from his shoulder injury and he is rather happy to reach into the final of the
tournament.
Chong Wei has been remained consistent on the number one position in the world for a period of more than three years. He was top seed and defending champion as well in India Open.
However, he failed to play his normal game to his lower ranked Wan Ho and lost the final encounter in three games.
The Malaysian got his shoulder injured in All England Open in March and did not participate in any tournament since then.
India Open was his first competition after a period of one and a half month and he is satisfied with his results in the championship.
Chong Wei was not hundred percent confident while playing at the India Open as he was not sure whether his should will not cause him any trouble.
He is happy with the results he achieved over there in New Delhi, India. He mentioned that his shoulder injury was in his mind while playing in the final and he also said that he felt no pain.
Chong Wei said, "Despite my defeat to Wan Ho, I am quite happy to have reached the final in my first tournament since suffering the shoulder injury. The phobia was there and I was also worried that I may get the injury again and it was good that I managed
to overcome that. I was able to execute smashes without pain and there was no problem with the shoulder.”
He added, "Wan Ho played very well but I know the areas that I lost out in and I can rectify the errors in the Malaysia Open."
Currently, the World Number 1 is competing in his home event of Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold 2012.
His next assignment will be to assist his team to perform well at the Thomas Cup Finals which will be held in China from May 20-27.
