The 2012 London Olympics did not yield result according to the expectations of Lee Chong Wei but he is not ready to quit the arena and declared 2014 Asian Games and Commonwealth Games his next targets.
In his last appearance in the Olympics, ghost of Wembley Arena chased the Malaysian badminton ace and he lost battle of throne against Chinese nemesis Lin Dan.
World Number two Chong Wei is one of those legendary characters who will not grace the mega event ever again but he vowed to shoulder his responsibility for next two years.
Despite of losing an Olympic gold medal few weeks back, he is still determined to prove his class in coming esteemed events. He talked down the rumours of his immediate retirement by expressing his desire to swing his arms until 2014.
Chong Wei stated that the disappointing outing in London Games has nothing to do with his career and he will keep the fire burning.
He declared 2014 Commonwealth Games and Asian Games his next target and vowed to make amends by claiming the crowns in these prestigious tournaments.
He said, "This is not the end for me though as I will go on for at least two more years. I want to win the Asian Games gold and also defend the Commonwealth Games title in 2014."

He commended his rival’s craft and announced that Lin Dan deserves to be called Champion as he has earned this place through a magnificent performance over the years.
In a lighter mood, the Malaysian maestro also declared himself pitiable as he always has to face “Super” Dan in every major battle.
He said, "I suppose it is my fate that I am in the same era as Lin Dan and I can only express my admiration for him. He has worked very hard to stay where he is and, seeing as I won silver again, so have I."
Moreover, Chong Wei also showed gratitude to the nation for the unconditional love and support throughout his rise and fall in the arena. He admitted that this really pushed him to put an extra effort in his way to glory.
It will be interesting to see Chong Wei bounce back from his Olympics defeat and take on the top shuttlers in the upcoming badminton tournaments.
