Lee Evans reunites with Mike Mularkey at Jacksonville Jaguars, WR keen to work with former boss
Former Baltimore Ravens’ wide receiver, Lee Evans, is said to be happy over the opportunity to work with his former coach, Mike Mularkey, at the Jacksonville Jaguars again and has spoken high of the coach’s improved abilities after his first meeting with
the official, recently.
Mularkey, who was an offensive coordinator at the Atlanta Falcons, has been taken on board by Jaguars as a head coach under the ownership of Shahid Khan for the first time.
The 2012 National Football League (NFL) season is going to be his first as a head coach since his dismissal as the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, where he spent 2004 and 2005 seasons.
Evans had played for Bills under supervision of Mularkey and now has availed another opportunity by signing a year deal with Jaguars recently.
Evans, who spent last year at the Baltimore Ravens, has recently met with Mularkey and said to be pleased over the improvement the coach has shown over the past few years.
Evans said of Mularkey
"When we sat down and talked, he was candid about going through it the first time in Buffalo. I think he has been able to learn from that, so coming into this time he's a lot better at (being a head coach)."
He added:
"He knows more what to expect and I think that's a big part of it. The coaches and guys he has around him are a big part of it as well, and I think this staff is very, very good."
Evans is among the veterans who deserted Ravens to sign with other teams of the NFL. He is going to a part of Jaguars who are marking a beginning to a new era under new owner and new coach.
Lee will be at the receiving end of young quarterback, Blaine Gabbert, who is going to come out in 2012 NFL season while into second year of his career.
The WR has not thrown a light on the prospects of working with a player who had failed at the starting line most of the time in his rookie year last season, but he should definitely be ready to work with a rather inexperienced QB.
