Lee Meng Yean and Chow Mei Kuan willing to clinch title in National Junior GP Finals – Badminton news
Malaysia’s young pair of Lee Meng Yean and Chow Mei Kuan is willing to clinch the Girl’s Doubles title in the 100 Plus National Junior GP Finals, starting from today on May 18, at Bukit Kiara, Malaysia.
Lee Meng and Chow Mei made their presence felt by defeating more senior pairs and grabbing the title at last month’s 2011 Kuala Lumpur Open. The duo is determined to continue their winning run in the National Junior event.
Lee Meng said, “Our target is to win the Under-18 doubles title in the GP Finals. Anything less will be considered a failure. Last year, we won the Under-16 title. This time around we are aiming to go one step better to show that we are moving up the ranks.”
While talking about their victory in the Kuala Lumpur Open, Lee Meng said, “Winning the KL Open last month was a good breakthrough but we have not let the victory get to our heads. Instead, we train even harder to improve on our game.”
Lee Meng and Chow Mei also clinched the title of the 2011 Dutch Junior Open, and also reached at the top four stages in the 2011 Thailand Satellite.
The pair is in tremendous form at the moment and they also know that it will be challenging to win the title of National Junior GP Finals as there are many talented shuttlers who will be fighting for the title.
The duo will be working hard to win the title in the presence of Nairul Nabilah Latif and Chang Yong Heng, Rasnith Kaur Grewal and Ang Ferng Ying and Nur Amira Ghazali and Nik Naseda Deyana.
If things proceed according to the plan, Lee Meng and Chow Mei will have a semi-final clash with See To Chia Vern and Chan Wan Ran. It will be a superb match as the both pairs belong to the same class of the game.
Lee Meng and Chow Mei, who have already grabbed two major titles in this year, are quite determined to win the Girl’s Doubles crown in the National Junior championship.
