Lee Spick retires from snooker world: 2012 World Snooker Q School
New season of snooker has begun after the finish of the 2012 World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) which produced 12 new rookies who will be taking part in the recent season. England’s Lee Spick was one of the potters who were not able to make it out
of Q School even after playing in all three events of the qualifying tournament.
However, the Englishman has announced that he will be retiring from the world of snooker as he believes he has played enough and now is the time to look for a serious profession for his future. He spent 12 years of his life at the baize but still did not
succeed as a major professional of the game. Spick admits that leaving the game is a hard decision for him but he has to swallow this bitter pill.
While speaking to the local media about his decision, Spick said, “I’m 32 now and I’ve just had enough really. It’s a hard decision to make because snooker has been my life, but I’ve just played Q School and not qualified and didn’t make it from there last
year either. I’ve just had enough really.”
The English potter added, “I’ve had a few different issues off the table in the last year which have played a massive part in my game. I’m now going to try and get a job which will be really hard as it is not easy with the way the world is now.”
The 32-year-old Englishman started his professional snooker career in the year 2000 but failed to achieve any major breakthrough in his early years. Nevertheless, he played well in 2006 and 2008 to gird himself up as a professional. He made his way into
the Last 48 round of the World Snooker Championship in the mentioned seasons but was unable to qualify for the initial round.
In the recent snooker season, he tried his luck in all three events of the 2012 World Snooker Q School and reached the fourth round of the Event 3 but crashed out of the event at the hands of Scotland’s Fraser Patrick after a tussling game by the score line
of 4-3 missing his chance to play in the pro circuit again.
