Lee-Waters/Moulton-Levy outplay Kremer/Lepchenko in opening round – Bell Challenge 2011

No real trouble for the fourth seeded American pair of Lindsay Lee-Waters and Megan Moulton-Levy at the Bell Challenge, as they outplayed the combination of Anne Kremer from Luxembourg and Varvara Lepchenko of the United Stated,
in the opening round on Wednesday night.
Lee-Waters and Moulton-Levy wrapped up a convincing victory at 6-4, 6-2, taking merely 58 minutes of play to dispose of their opponent from the competition with the utmost ease.
The contest was played on the indoor hard courts of Quebec, Canada, with the fourth seeded duo displaying its belligerent tennis to earn a place in the quarter-finals of the $220,000 WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) event.
Kremer and Lepchenko have already lost their individual singles matches at the Bell Challenge and their combination also flopped against the aggressive fourth seeded pair as well. They appeared completely out of form in the contest
and failed to pose any serious resistance to the he American duo.
Despite of conceding seven double faults in the matchup, Lee-Waters and Moulton-Levy reeled off 23 out of their 27 first serve points to remain on top of the game. They crafted six break opportunities in the matchup and converted
half of them en route to victory, with Kremer and Lepchenko utterly failing to register a serve break in the entire contest.
The opener had a steady start, with both pairs holding their serves in the opening six games. Lee-Waters and Moulton-Levy made their first move in the seventh game to nail their first serve break of the day to get to a 4-3 lead.
Kremer squandered away two vital break chances in the first set and eventually dropped it at 4-6 to let their opponents the upper hand in the game.
Lee-Waters and Moulton-Levy proved even lethal in the following set and stung two straight serve breaks to the crumbling opponents. The fourth seeded American duo then went on to seal victory at 6-2, getting a place in the quarter-finals
of the Bell Challenge. Lee-Waters and Moulton-Levy will take on the combination of Liga Dekmeijere of Latvia and Alexandra Mueller in the round of eight on Thursday.
