Lee Westwood leads after 15 holes: Barclays Scottish Open
140th edition of Barclay Scottish Open kicked off on the Castle Stuart Golf Links Golf Course on Thursday with a star-studded field.  Here is a quick look at the leaderboard.
Lee Westwood made a huge jump on the leaderboard after the first half and after fifteen holes he is in the lead. The Englishman chose to tee-off from the back and carded two birdies, with an ace on the 18th hole.
Westwood hammered a tee-shot onto the right side of the fairway, which left him standing at a distance of 200 yards from the green. The player aimed his second shot onto the elevated green and found himself capping it with a 5-feet
long eagle. On his way towards the front nine, Westwood birdied four more holes against a single bogey and shot straight into a temporary lead.
The world number 2 has two more holes to go and he is sitting at the first spot with a score of seven–under-par.
Westwood ruled the world number 1 spot for 22 weeks and is currently fighting with Luke Donald to get his throne back.
Chris Wood, Edoardo Molinari and Retief Goosen occupy the second spot on the leaderboard. Goosen marveled the crowd with his fabulous wedge game. He birdied two holes, aced one and bogeyed one on the back. However, on his way to the
front, the player decided to be meticulous and hence abstained from mistakes. He reeled two back-to-back birdies starting from par-5 second and left rest of the holes for par. He capped the day with a score of 67.
A five-way tie is seen for the fifth spot on the leaderboard, which includes Mark Tullo, George Coetzee, Colin Montgomerie, Peter Lawrie and Peter Hanson.
Coetzee, who won the Telkom PGA Championship at the start of the season, reeled eight birdies in the day against a loss of three bogeys. The South African is carrying a great form in to the event, the proof of which was his Top-3
finish at the BMW International Open, earlier this year.
