Leeds Rhinos skipper James Peacock not worrying about injuries
James Peacock, the skipper of the Leeds Rhinos is not upset of getting injured once again just ahead of the final showdown of the Carnegie Challenge Cup in 2011, as he is marching into tonight's clash against Castleford Tigers in the Super Rugby League encounter.
Almost a year ago, Peacock’s injured knee killed the Rhinos’ Carnegie Challenge Cup in 2010 dream and with the match lined this season the situation is almost alike, but all he is concentrating on is his forthcoming game lined up for tonight against the
Tigers.
According to Peacock, the fulcrum of his worries is wrapped around how well he is going to deliver against the recent line-ups.
Following tonight’s clash the Rhinos will combat against the Harlequins and ultimately the final showdown of the Challenge Cup 2011 on August 27 in Wembley.
While commenting about their prevailing situation, which is comparable to 2010, Peacock stated, “It won’t be in the back of my mind, not at all. I am in a lot better shape physically than I was back then. The last 12 years or so had taken its toll on my
body and I was struggling a little bit going into that game.”
Peacock is drawing closer to his childhood dream of playing at Wembley.
He shared his thoughts and said, “With other players who are a bit younger, Wembley might not be a boyhood dream of theirs, since the Grand Final came along. But it is for me. Wembley means a lot to me and to play there and to win there would be fantastic.”
Tonight’s game is very important as it will cement Rhinos’ spot within top-eight berth in the League ladder if they manage to bag a win tonight against Castleford. Currently, Rhinos are floating a spot above the Castleford, who are on the seventh spot within
the League hierarchy.
Speaking about the games lined up ahead of Rhinos, Peacock ensured that all players on board are going to play well because in order to reach the big game in Wembley, best game is the top priority.
It was further added by the England’s skipper that the clash is going to be a tough one, as Tigers will try to answer back their bitter defeat of 8-10 against Rhinos, last Sunday.
According to him, this is an ideal scenario for the Tigers as they got the opportunity to recover from their recent semi-final defeat which had terminated their dreams of playing the final showdown of the Challenge Cup in Wembley.
