  1. It will take less than an hour ( Depending on traffic ) And will cost no more than £20 return ,Generally the bigger the engine size the better for long distances !

i:e if you have a 1.1 ltr engine travelling at 70mph you will be doing approx 3,400 rpm so the engine will be using more fuel than say a 2ltr engine travelling at 70 mph doing approx 2,500 rpm .

This is based on the fact that i can get to manchester airport & back to my home town ( teesside ) On approx £30 of petrol ( a total round trip distance of 250 miles ) & takes me approx 4hr 20 mins .( round trip ) In a 1.8 petrol estate car fully loaded with luggage & 4 people . I worked it out that it cost approx £10 to travel 80+ miles . This was in very light traffic at 1am travelling at 70 mph ( 2,600 rpm ) This was 3 weeks ago , So please allow for the increase in fuel prices since then !

  2. do you mean Lancaster?

if not ... where in the county of Lancashire?

Leeds to the Border of Lancashire were it borders west Yorkshire is only about 30 miles

    edit:

Leeds to Burnley is 37.8 miles, approximatley 58 minutes drive

it's hard to say how much it will cost in Petrol .. how big is the engine on your car? different engines will burn different amounts of Petrol

  3. Bit ambiguous that.  Lancashire is rather large.
