I do ballet, and I'm in level 4. My right foot points very well. But for some reason, my left foot doesn't point as well. I know that everybody has a less flexible/worse turning side, but I can't seem to get it to point no matter how much I work on it. I also need help with turnout. I don't think it's the arch on my left foot so much a my toes won't point right. Sorry if that's confusing! I also need help with my turnout....any tips?

  1. Sometimes a better arch and point can be helped by strengthening your ankles. Thera- bands help -- (a stretchy thin piece of rubber) There are many exercises to help strenghten the foot an ankle. A pretty good list of these can be found on the following website

Also, sit on the floor facing a couch or chair that is low to the ground. place your toes under the bottom of the couch and then slowly begin to straighten your leg. You won't be able to straighten it all at once. When you feel a good stretch, hold it for a couple minutes -- then be sure to roll your ankles out when you are done. Do this every night and you will develop better points and arches
