Question:

Left/right handed bows?

Im thinking about buying a bow, more than likely a compound to start with, but I don't know what to buy because I am right handed, but i can almost guarantee I'll be holding the bow with my right hand and pulling the string with my left (it feels better to me), but I don't want to get stuck with a left hand bow just in case, any suggestions?

  1. First you need to find out which eye is your dominant one.  Stand up and pick a target far away, make sure your head is close enough to being dead center.  take your two hands and overlap them one on top of each other such that you make a small diamond shaped hole in the middle between your thumbs and your index fingers.  With your arms straight down, hands together in front of your hips.  Look at your target and raise your arms, center that target in that small hole.  Bring your hand to your face while keeping the target centered.  The eye it comes back to is your dominant eye.

If you're right eye dominant, then you draw with your right hand and hold the bow with the left and vice versa.
