  1. ~ Hi ~ ! I'm sorry about your jaw pain. My daughter and I have both have issues with grinding our teeth at night when we sleep. The thing with us (which I've known other people to do this) is we grind our teeth primarily one side. I did it a lot when I was working (I'm guessing from stress). My dentist couldn't believe how I had ground down my teeth! Anyway, what told me I was having a problem was jaw pain and numbness on side of my face and headaches. That got me to my dentist for a check-up. I used to have to wear a mouth guard to bed (I am more relaxed and no longer have to wear one), but it really did help and I think retrained me NOT to grind my teeth at night.

Anything involving your mouth/jaw, I would definitely bring to your dentist's attention for an evaluation!

I hope you get answers and relief soon!

  2. You could have a toothache that's really pain causing your jaw to be sore. Try this website for excercising your jaw. I hope i helped (and i am trying to become a top contributor for pain and pain management) so i really need 10 points.

  3. Does it involve a tooth or just pain with your jaw? Try not chewing on that side and applying heat or ice (whichever feels best to you) for a few days.  If no noticeable relief, make an appointment with a dentist.

  4. Does it click when you eat or yawn etc?

It could be something to do with the tempromandibular joint in the jaw or it could be to do with decay in your teeth or even possibly the start of wisdom teeth eruption, I had this at age 17, it was horrible.

Best bet is to see your dental surgeon for a firm diagnosis and treatment.
