  1. Ah, so there you are!

  2. On return you will be arrested at the airport and detained until court officials arrive and take you off to a debtors prison...

  3. You will be questioned by the authorities in charge of that area of the law.

Contact your embassy in the country that you are in now, and find out exactly what happens.

  4. Your credit history will be ruined I expect.

Depending on the nature, you could actually have a warrant for a court summons on your head. You'll find out soon enough at the airport.

  5. After 6 years without any contact with a debtor, the debt becomes legally uncollectible.  So if you've been away 10 years, and during that time had no communication with any or all of the banks to which you owed money,   you are no longer under any legal obligation to repay anything.

  6. You will be fine.  They'll have been written off by now.

  7. Nothing don't stress. This would have been written off by now and no Cop will waste their time on you. There is so much red-tape around govt and banking authorities that they can't link one department to another plus most employees are useless so stress not.

  8. they'll have been written off, but visa may not have you back as a customer

  9. Not a whole lot, there won't be police waiting at the airport don't worry. Police have better things to be doing then chasing credit card debt from a decade ago. I should imagine Visa gave up trying to track you down years ago, if this is the case i will be wiped and though they can stay harrass you for the money they can't take legal action anymore. Go and visit the CAB once your back and settled they will give you advise on the best way to deal with any court summons you may have been issued over the last years.

  10. Those debts would be written off after 6 years.

  11. You'll be on some kind of "black list" and you will be questioned or taken to court when your name goes through the computers at the airport
