Left turn accident!?

There was a big snowstorm this morning, and i drove my car. I decided to turn around and go back home, because of the bad weather conditions. Ok, i pull into the next right street, and turn around. I wait to make a left turn. I was waiting about 5 min, then the traffic on the left side stopped and waved me in. I checked the right side about 3 times, and there was a car that was far away. So there was enought time to make the turn. I proceeded with the turn, and suddenly this lady hit my car on the right middle side. It was not a impact hit, just the cars where kinda sliding side by side....... it was slippery as well and a huge amount of snow. Her side mirror fell off, and there are just a few sratches. She only took my liscence plate number, no phonenumber....... her car ended up in the ditch, but nobody got hurt. So we both left the accident scene.

I was wondering how much the damage would be approximately.

I never had an accident in my life. Iam driving over 20 years!

  1. With today's cars the damage and the unseen damage could be anywhere from $500.00 to $5000.00, there is no way to tell until it has been inspected......

  2. Take pictures - today - of the damage to your vehicle...Go to a body shop first chance you get and get an estimate...If the estimate is close to what you would pay on your insurance deductible, it would be better just for you to pay for it yourself...Otherwise, submit a claim to your insurance company and let them sort it out.

    All the best.

  3. If you haven't been cantacted don't worry about it. You did not look to your right as well as you thought or you would have seen these cars. they were there. In bad weather cases you would be better off to go to an intersection and let the light help you get going the right way.
