Question:

Left turn at intersection on road test?

I have a sort of dilemma i might face on the road test. My instructor told me that you might not want to go for a left turn at an intersection if the tester cannot see that its safe even though you can conclude it is.

How would you face this problem? Would you go knowing its clear and get out of the intersection or wait till you think the tester can know for sure?

  1. Very simple, proceed if it is safe, look both ways and do it as your were taught, that is all that can be asked of you and good luck.

  2. The tester is not going to assume you did something unsafe just because he couldn't tell that it was safe. As long as your are calm and competent up until then, you should go if you can tell that it is safe. Just make sure the tester can see that you looked in the appropriate directions.

If he sees you look and then you proceed cautiously, he's not going to worry that you looked straight at a truck and went anyway. If he did that on every test, he'd be a nervous wreck in no time.
