Left waterhose on for 27 hours?

I accidently left my water hose on for 27 hours. It has a switch that minimizes the amount of water to come out of the hose but still there was a lot of water in my back yard. My question is has anyone else ever done this? And will my bill be ridiculously high? Like $1000? Im just a bit scared I guess. Thanks.

  1. I had a 3/4 inch water line break and run for a month before I found out .It flooded 3 acres and gave me a $300 water bill. One day will add about $20 to a regular $30 bill at most

  2. Check your house insurance.  On our policy we are insured for this.

  3. Call your water company and tell them what happened. We had a line break once and it ran for who knows how long (we think about a week.) Anyway, I called the water company and they put me on a different billing cycle for a month to lower the amount that I would be billed. It was only about $100, my normal bill is around $50. They stated that if we didn't go on that special billing for that month, they would have charged me around $250.

Your water will just absorb into the back yard, so don't worry about the flooding part of it.
