Leg It Leanne sprints to big finish in A3 race at Nottingham
At the Nottingham Greyhound Stadium, six dogs burst out of the traps, all trying to do the same thing, but they aren't working together. Their common goal is to deliver a big win, but
only one dog can do so in each 500m race.
Leg It Leanne was one of the dogs whose mission to deliver a win was successful in the first of two A3 races. The 9-4 favourite held an early pace from trap six, and always led the pack.
She finished the race with a time of 30.48, which gave her the win. A distance of 8 lengths separated first place from second, as 10-1 long shot Mountview Free baulked first and crowded third. She went on to finish in 31.12.
Third place was claimed by Distant Tigress (3-1), whose clear run allowed her to finish ¾ lengths out of second place in 31.18. Bat Wing (4-1) took fourth place after crowding third. His
finishing time of 31.24 placed him ¾ lengths out of the top three.
Bronze Tag (4-1) crowded third, and lost 1½ lengths as a result. He went on to complete the race in 31.36. Sixth place belonged to Coolbeggan Seven (4-1), who baulked first. He finished
in 31.56, placing him 2 ½ lengths behind fifth place.
In the second A3 race, Dromana Cool’s (7-2) early pace from trap three was enough to give her the win. She held a lead over the other competitors for the entire race, finishing well with
a time of 30.77. Big Machine (5-1) had a clear run, finishing 2¾ lengths behind the winner to lock up second place in 30.99.
Satnav (6-1) also had a clear run, placing third after racing to a finish of 31.03, which was only a ½ length out of second place. Finishing fourth was Hollyoak Dali (5-1), whose clear
run down the middle gave him a 31.13 finish. A distance of 1¼ lengths separated her from a top-three finish.
Despite a clear run, 5-4 favourite Kirkfields Fred finished in fifth place. However, he was just ¾ lengths behind Hollyoak Dali with his time of 31.19. Last place belonged to Daves Hope
(5-1). A clear run was not enough for him to crack the top three, and he lost 5¾ lengths while racing. He went on to finish in 31.65.
The races at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium are set to resume on Friday 19 November. The evening begins with an A3 race at 18:28.
