What are some good ways to strengthen your leg mussles with out running or having access to a gym?

  1. Yoga, pool running, cycling, some leg weights.


  2. One thing that i did to stregnthen my legs was wearing leg weights. Of course you will have better results if you run with them but just walking aroud with them on can make a difference. I got mine at walmart for like $15 but my sister got some at a convienient shop for like $5. (if you do decide to use them though start out small and work your way up. i would start out with about three to five pounds and go no higher than ten to fifteen.

  3. if you have stairs or a chair in your house just start stepping up and down. Leg lifts are also a great way to strengthen you quads and hamstrings. First you will start off with no weight at all and you lay on your back and lift on leg straight up about 4 inches higher than your foot that is still on the ground (to get a good measurement the foot that is still on the ground should have the toes pointed straight up in) you will hold your leg in the air for 20 secs than switch legs. do that 10 times per leg and than when you pick your leg up point your toes out, hold your foot up for 20 secs and switch, repeat 10 times. When you are done with that point your toes in when you lift your leg up hold for 20 secs, switch, repeat 10 times. Your legs will definetly feel it. When you think you are ready for weight you could take a set of panty hose and than drop a can of peas or what ever veggie or fruit into the panty hose and tie it to your leg (if you don't access to a gym for weights)

    Lastly you could do calve  raises. stand on the edge of a step with your heels hanging off the edge and than just start lifting up and down nice and slowly. you could hold some books for weight if you would like, or fill a back pack up with something to add weight.
