  1. My Dance teachers always tell me to imagin that there is a string tied to your head and you should pull up from there. also lift up from your legs.

  2. just kicking a bunch of times will strengthen your legs, running helps and strengthening your stomach will help a lot. sometimes its not your legs its your stomach cause thats whats holding your leg up.

may God bless you  and everyone you love!

  3. You are referring to your gluts (or as others say, "butt muscles").  I find that placing your leg on a high chair or window sill, and then lifting it up and holding is as high as possible (above whatever you were resting it on) builds up strength.

Try holding it up for as long as you can.  You may be sore the next day, but over time, it will become easier and easier.

    Good luck!

  4. i agree with bda _dancer about pretending there is a string. that's exactly the motto of every dance class i've ever been in.

when you are doing your developpes is when you will feel this strength build the most. focus on making your movements controlled and deliberate. and whatever height your leg goes, hold it there for at least 5 seconds each time. during grand battements, as you bring your leg down, go slowly and you'll once again feel those muscles.

don't forget to stretch in between combinations to prevent cramps!

  5. Try pulling a normal size tire for a car or something.try pulling it about 10-15 yards and if you do that leg muscle will help you alot.
