Leg toning exercises that are easy on the knees?

Squats hurt my knees, so do lunges or anything that is going to require me to bend and hold or come back up. I am doing push ups and sit ups but i need to do some leg toning as well.

  2. the squats may hurt  your knees because maybe you aren't doing them right. Make sure than your bent knee is not going past your toes, and is creating a 90 degree angle. But if you have an exercise ball, I know there a good exercises online for toning your legs. Just look it up online. Here is a link with 3 exercises.
