Legal Question no opinions Visitation Rights Age 14 Maine?

I'm told in Maine by the attorney general a child at age 14 has the right to choose to visit non custodial parent. This is a terrible shame and is not right. I have not seen my 11 and 14 year olds for a year with two contempt orders I am now going for # 3 contempt.

#1 We pay and we have no say Us dads pay support for kids we love and have no say but only have to pay.

#2 Mom claims if she forces them to go thats abuse. Thats wrong also. If the kid that has to go to school mom surely sends them. She will see to it they get to school. Why because the state supports that.

#3 The state doesn't support us dads They need to enforce contempt of visitation orders and they dont. They need to hold back support payments or change custody to the parent capable of sharing the children.

#4 Parental alienation is terrible and it needs to be stopped but the state needs to back us non custodial parents usually dad, and our children they love us to. The alilenator and the state however are not supporting us.

So my question is who made this law when and why? This is wrong its a terrible shame as well. Please dont respond with opinions about my parenting skills etc. I use to have custody due to substantiated abuse of my children by their own mom so please dont' bash me here. I want legal answers not opinions or bashing. Thanks in advance

Again no Opinions I dont' want to waste my Answers and my question

  1. all i can tell you is about where i live..iowa.. here when a child turns 13 the court will "listen" to the child but only as a sujestion as to what the child wants.. the ultimate decision still lies on the judge and whats in the best interest of the child.i understand your fustration i paid support for a child that lived with me for 3 years due to mothers abuse... good luck
