Legal drinking age on cruise ships?

Me and my friend are both 18 we are going on a cruise ship to hawaii we dont know which line yet and we want to know which one will let us drink at 18

Most cruise lines have become more ridgid in their policies in the last few years.  Now it is 21 to drink in the United States and 21 to drink on the cruise.  Royal Caribbean will allow a parent to sign a waiver to drink when sailing to europe or south america.

If you're going on an american cruise ship and sailing in U.S. waters, then I'm guessing they'll have a 21yr drinking age. One from a country with a younger drinking age will be your best bet.

No Cruise line will let you drink. In the states the age is 21. You won't find a cruise where you can drink.

I belive that you can be 18 and drink on any of them.  Might depend upon which country the ship is licence in.

Okay, I just learned about this because I am going on a cruise soon- you have to be 21 to drink legally- but- if you are between the ages 18 and 20, and you have your parents permission (i think they also have to be on the cruise with you) then you are in the clear... it goes something like that. Go to a cruiseline's website like carnival or royal carribean to get the exact details. Good luck!!

When your more then 12 miles off the coast of the Unites States youre in international waters so where ever the boat is registered... its there rules. but most likely youll be able to =)

Double check with whichever cruise line you choose, because even though the drinking ages ARE 21 (except when I went last year, I was 18 and with a bunch of adults and on the first day (we were on a Carnival ship) they were giving out free drinks to all of the adults in my group and just handed me a drink without carding me). But check to make sure you CAN book a cruise. I know some cruise lines won't allow you to book a cruise unless you're 21. It's like getting a rental car.

Chances are, none of them will let you drink at 18. If you were going to Mexico or the Bahamas instead of Hawaii, then you could get drunk there. Unless you go to formal's night (again, this was on Carnival) and they were handing out Alabama Slammers and wine to anyone who looked like an adult.

Whats the point of drinking at age 18 I mean most ships follow some of the US laws and most ships you have to be 21 to drink otherwise have your parents sign a consent form but they have to be on the cruise with you and that only applies in like Europe where their drinking age is like 16 so good luck, just enjoy it while you can cuz alcohol can change your life.

Drinking policies aboard ships vary on the origin and destination port, registration of the ship and cruise line's internal policies. Because your destination is Hawaii, you most likely will be traveling on one of the "major" cruise lines. They restrict drinking to passengers 21 and over.

Even international lines, such as Costa and MSC have restricted drinking to passengers 21 and older in order to curb "unruly" behavior.

Sorry, but you're going to have a sober trip.

None will.  Cruise lines out of America all go by American laws.  And, since, you are going to Hawaii, you will be in America, so you still can't drink. If you want to drink, cruise to Mexico, as soon as you step off the ship onto the mainland, you can drink at 18
