Okay, big issue here. Is it legal in the state of New Jersey for a 14-year old girl to become the legal guardian for her cousin's unborn son? There has to be some kind of restrictions or something like that, right?

  1. NO WAY NO HOW NO KID

  2. nowhere in the world is it allowed for a 14 year old to become a legal guardian. there are some places which even require guardians to attend a parenting seminar before they are officially registered as such.

you'te way too young. i tell you this. the responsibility is not that easy.

  3. not at fourteen, you cannot sign papers if the child needs to be admitted to a hospital or special care was needed, a legal guardian is an adult.

  4. You would have to be considered a legal adult to be a legal guardian.  So, 14 would be way too young to do this for someone else's kid.

  5. I doubt if they can become a legal guardian.A legal guardian has to be able to take care of and support a baby.I do not know ANY 14 yr olds in Jersey or ANYWHERE who have a full time job, their own car and house and support themselves financially.
