The Pakistani cricketers, Kamran Akmal and Umar Akmal have sent legal notices to Mazhar Majeed following the allegations on them regarding the spot-fixing scandal. The legal notices which have been sent asking for an explanation
from Majeed regarding the allegations he has leveled on the brothers and stated that if no proof is given to this effect then an apology be tendered to the Akmal brothers.
The Lawyer of the Akmal brothers stated that they were very upset about the allegations and that they wanted answers from Majeed. They believed that all this has been done to malign the cricketers and they will not tolerate this
at all.
The Lawyer of Akmal brother, Saud Nasrullah told reporters that, “either he must come up with more details to back his statement that Kamran and Umar were involved with him in spot fixing or he must publicly apologize or face a
suit for damages.”
Majeed recently named more players besides the trio of Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt. He claimed that there are a total of seven players working for him. He named the Akmal brothers, Imran Farhat and Wahab Riaz.
Imran Farhat also reacted strongly against the allegations by Majeed and he has already sent a notice to him asking for an explanation.
Majeed was an agent of some of the Pakistani cricketers and he recently got caught accepting bribes for the Pakistani players during the recent England series. The players denied having such relations with Majeed but the ICC claim
to have enough evidence to suspend a few players from the team.
The trio of Asif, Amir and Butt will face a tribunal in January which will decide their fate in international cricket after the hearing pronounces judgment.

Following the allegations from Majeed some of the players have been ignored by the PCB for the New Zealand squad. Kamran Akmal is one of those players. If the ICC has asked the PCB to not name those players who have not been cleared
by the ICC, this will mean then that Kamran Akmal may not be a part of the 2011 World Cup.
