  1. if you're living in the u.s... and if they take taxes out they have to ATLEAST pay min. wage.. they can pay you more than that though..

usually an own business can not pay you what they want..

  2. It's $8 in California

  3. by law they have to pay you a minimum amount, it varies depending upon which state you live in. Also federally, there is an amount that they can't pay you less than. Following these federal and state set amounts the bakery owners can chose to pay you whatever they want because it is their business.

  4. It really depends.

Are you employed legally or illegally? Do you get a check or they pay you cash? What state are you from?

Some employments have their own definitions of pay that can negate the minimum hourly wage. For example, you may be getting paid as an independent contractor.

As you see, there are more factors to consider than the information you put here.

Try to answer some of the questions, maybe we can answer more accurately.

  5. Look, you are just 15. Dont go in there trying to demand more money than what they are paying you. If you p**s him off he can tell you to hit the door and get someone to replace you the next day. You are just a kid (no offense). You have very few rights in thew workplace.  Just take what you are getting, do the best job you can and be happy with it. Be polite to your boss/supervisor. If he sees you doing a good job after you have been there for a while he might offer you a raise. If not-when the time is right ask him for one.
