Are there any legal ramifications if a business competitor hacks into your e-mail account and takes proprietary material (i.e. a confidential presentation) and then uses it against you?

  4. They could get arrested. Someone once hacked my email and sent a message to my school threatning that i would blow up the school. I told them it wasnt me and they tracked it down, the person got it trouble.

    If someone is hacking into your email-report it immediately: there are detectives who can trace it back....

    If it's you: Shame on you! It's a federal crime and you can go to jail!

  7. lol - are you kidding here? Um yes it is blatant theft with all the fringe benefits of being able to sue that company for a number of other things especially if there was any loss of income to the target company or gain of income to the recieving company...
