is the age really 16..? has anybody ever heard of a 16 year old real astate agent?

No, it's 18 in most states.  I've met 18 and 19 year old agents, but they never tend to be very serious about it.  They seem to think everything will fall into their laps.

In NY you have to be 18 to be an agent, in other states it might varry, so be more spesific

Illinois's requirement is 21 years old.

I have not, but there are many things I've never heard of that are true.  The laws vary from state to state.  Each state has a real estate commission that governs all real estate licensees.  Most have a website that lists requirements.  Check the website or call them.  This will give you the complete truth.
