Legally, is there a curfew if you are 18 years old?

I'm not talking about what your parent's rules are. Strictly, based on law. I live in Chicago if that matters.

  1. No, Under Illinois state law you legally become an adult at 18. Unless there is a state of emergency type of thing or martial law, curfew should not affect you.


  2. no but that doesn't mean cops wont ask what you are doing on the streets at 3am

  3. most curfews I have read DO include that it is allowable for the person under 18, in certain things (errand for parents, so forth).  That is as far as the one under 18. YOU are not subject to the curfew, but I don't know if this protects the passenger in the car.  

  4. There aren't any adult curfews in this country that I'm aware of... UNLESS there's something really bad going on in the neighborhood (e.g. a serial killer,) then the police might issue a temporary, mandatory curfew for everyone.

  5. Once you are legally 18, no.
