If we have the power to help someone in distress, are not obligated by specific job tasks and choose not to help, are there any circumstances in which we are liable?

  1. If the person need medical or was the victim of a crime and you refused to call for assistance, then you could be embarrassed by the police, like hauled in for questioning and made a fool out of.

  3. If you see an accident in which someone is hurt, and do not assist, then yes you can be cited by police.
