Legend surrounding Arizona's Red Mountain Freeway

someone told me once that the reason the Red Mountain Freeway (Loop 202) in Arizona has so many accidents is because it was built over an ancient burial ground. Has anyone else heard this? I can't seem to find anything in SNOPES, etc. or on the web about it but I swear an Arizona native told me this.

It appears that there has been quite a controversy over that stretch of freeway for some time.

And it seems some few folks have been SwiftBoating it for an equal amount of time.
