Legendary Hall of Famer: Bret “The Hit Man” Hart – Part 3

During the course of his storied career, Bret “The Hit Man” Hart won the Inter Continental Championship, World Tag Team Championship, United States Championship, WCW Tag Team Championship and WCW Championship. Bret “The Hit Man” Hart also won the Royal Rumble and became the General Manager of RAW.

Bret “The Hit Man” Hart achieved his 5th WWE championship when he fought against the Under taker along with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee. Bret Hart started arguing with Shawn Michaels over the speed of the three-count during the match. The argument turned into a heated altercation and Shawn Michaels picked up a chair to beat Bret Hart. Unfortunately for Shawn Michaels, the chair hit the legendary Under Taker and Hart won the controversial match.

The match was over and Bret Hart won his 5th WWE championship but this altercation set events into motion and paved the way for the most controversial match in the history of professional wrestling. That controversial match is infamously referred to as the “Montreal s***w Job”. Bret “The Hit Man” Hart collided with Shawn Michaels in a survivor series for an epic match which was fought to determine the fate of the prestigious golden WWE championship.

No wrestler seemed willing to back down during the match and fans sat and watched the electrifying fight. But suddenly, Shawn Michaels trapped Bret Hart in Bret’s own submission hold, the “Sharpshooter”. The referee awarded the match to Shawn Michaels when even Bret was not willing to tap out.  The Canadian thought that he is stripped off the title and confusion prevailed everywhere.

Hart would return to the ring a decade latter to settle his differences with the WWE Chairman, Mr. Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels. Bret left the WWE in disgust and joined the WCW where he accumulated many more wrestling awards and titles. During his WCW career, he fought with the likes of Bill Goldberg and many more.

Bret “The Hit Man” Hart was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2006 for his services towards professional wrestling. “The Hit Man” Hart returned to RAW 12 years after the Montreal s***w Job and received his 5th U.S. championship after he trapped The Miz in the dreaded Sharpshooter. The illustrious career of Bret “The Hit Man” Hart was engulfed in controversy but he can definitely be labeled as the best technical wrestlers of all time.
