For a novice, adopting the family profession is the easiest way to build up career. Born in 1945, Richard Hannon followed in the footsteps of his father, who had been a renowned British trainer of his time, and started learning tricks of the trade from the
very childhood.
The Hannon family’s rich tradition of horse training helped Richard to master in the profession very soon. After completing his education and technical trainer, he managed to get license in 1970. There started a glittering era in the sport arena.
Soon, the star trainer gained a lot of fame in the horseracing fraternity as his pupils began making notable marks. Every owner wished to get his horse trained by Richard.
For his excellent services and epic achievements, Hannon was regarded as the Champion Trainer for three times in 1992, 2010 and 2011. The year 2011 proved to be the most successful one in his career as he bagged 218 wins, 8 more than the previous year. During

Currently, Richard has a number of star pupils in his stable. His last victory came on July 28, 2012 when Maureen marvellously won the Princes Margaret Juddmonte Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies) at Ascot.
The legendary trainer’s son and son-in-law are also working in the same field. Thus, he has elegantly passed on the Hannon family’s legacy to his offspring.
Despite being old enough, Richard is still enjoying his profession. It is expected that he will continue producing sport stars for the years to come. Long live the legend.
