Legendary boxer Smokin’ Joe Frazier in the final fight of his life – Boxing news
Former Olympic and Undisputed World Heavyweight boxing champion, Joe Frazier, is in the final fight of his life, as he is deathly ill due to his advanced liver cancer and as per the reports he now needs as many prayers as possible.
“He’s in serious shape, we’re looking for a miracle,” said a source close to the former heavyweight champion. “They’re only giving him a short time to live. We need to have as many people as possible praying for Joe right now.”
The 67-year-old Frazier during his boxing career, which was from 1965 to 1976 with a brief comeback in 1981, held a record of winning 32 of his 37 professional fights (1 Draw), with 27 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout.
Frazier, who is rated among the 10 greatest heavyweight boxers of all times by the International Boxing Research Organisation (IBRO), gave the boxing world many classic memories which only a few can forget.
Especially his third fight with his bitter rival Muhammad Ali known as ‘Thrilla in Manila’ is considered as the Fight of the Century by many sport writers and analysts. According to the reports, over 300 million people were glued to their televisions when
the fight took place.
However, a ferocious and smothering fighter with a devastating left hook is still known for his gentle behaviour outside the ring.
“Joe is one of the sweetest guys you could ever meet,” a friend told The Post. “Sometimes we’d be driving down the highway and see a car broken down and we would have to go out and help somebody. That’s Joe Frazier.”
Frazier, who is an inductee of both the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame, still has an army of fans out there because he and Muhammad Ali were the two people who were known to everyone during their time. Boxing was all
about them during their peak.
