Legendary quarterback Brett Favre's Twitter account hacked since March 5 - NFL News
Most of the National Football League (NFL) players are taking to Twitter as the social media continues to revolutionise the interactions between fans and their favourite heroes.
Legendary quarterback, Brett Favre, too looked to dip into the social media arena when he joined the website with the hash tag @BrettFavre4 on March 2nd and soon amassed a large fan following.
However, it has now emerged that Favre’s account had been hacked and taken over by an unknown person on March 5 who tweeted using the quarterback’s name.
It seems that opportunity for quick fame attracts some unsavoury characters.
The news emerged after the legend’s official website released a statement saying that Favre’s last tweet went out on Sunday, and after that all other tweets sent out using the account was made by an unknown person who had hacked his account.
“Please accept our sincere apologies regarding the information that we passed along regarding Brett's new Twitter account last Friday, March 2nd. Since Monday, March 5th an unknown party has taken over Brettfavre4 and has been tweeting without authorization.”
That means that all of Favre’s tweets regarding mowing his lawn and other normal stuff were actually made up imaginings of some hacker who found nothing better to do with the access.
The hacker though has since gained a conscience and put up an apology using Favre’s account.
“Okay guys, im now a brett farve parody. Im sorry if i offended any of you. I never ment for it to get this big. Go follow @Brett4Official.”
The thing is even @Brett4Official does not exist so there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the whole deal.
Favre’s press release meanwhile also stated that the quarterback is going with his family to the Bahamas for Spring Break and is enjoying himself.
The ex-Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings quarterback will be back soon enough on the social media site and will be tweeting away his thoughts on everything in no time.
Let us just hope that his latest account does not meet the same fate and we get to hear from the real deal instead of the musings on lawn mowing from an unknown person.
