Legends Agassi, Sampras, Chang and Courier return to Las Vegas – Tennis News
Andre Agassi, Peter Sampras, Michael Chang and Jim Courier are on a 12-city tour and stay for one-night tournaments at each stop. Next up is Los Angeles. The tour is one month long and will feature the four legends of tennis, playing
an eight-game pro-set championship match in every city sharing a one million dollar pool amongst them in equal proportions.
They will follow up this tour with another tour to Las Vegas where they would feature in a tournament, organised by UNLV. The fiercest battles of Wimbledon and Grand Slams will be resumed at the heart of LA. Tickets are selling
like hot cakes and crowd is expecting to see some of the most fascinating tennis of 80’s - 90’s era, once again. Andre Agassi showed his delight about the tournament and said “This tournament is great for both the fans and for us. We all love playing tennis,
and we’re all friends on and off the court”.
All these tennis stars are the best of their era. They rocked everywhere they contested and had millions of fan following behind them. The pressure of the crowd’s support was enough to dismantle the confidence of their opponent
at the pitch. They are regarded as the kings of tennis courts and now they are enjoying their retired age with some exhibitions matches on their disposal that still fascinates the crowd.
Former world number one, Agassi, said “I know the body is not what it used to be. I’ll confess there are aches and pains - you know you’re getting older when you get out of bed in the morning. That spring in the step is missing.
You never, though, stop enjoying this sport”.
These players are still in shape as they have been regularly participating in these kinds of events on regular intervals. Crowd expects them to stay like that so that they can still enjoy the class of former tennis legends. The
form is definitely temporary but class is permanent and there game play at exhibitions proves this.
